Unsure

Or maybe uncertain.

We sometimes find ourselves here: feeling like we’re not confident about our decision-making (we question whether we have enough information or the right inputs) or doubtful about our abilities or judgments. We might feel hesitant to act because the outcome isn’t clear to us, or we’re worried about making any kind of mistake. We might also be feeling unconvinced: if we did that thing would anything shift, our lethargy or inertia keeping us where we are.

We like certainty. We like to know the answers. We like to have absolute confidence in the choices we make. We like to be sure of ourselves in all situations (even the ones new to us).

Sitting with uncertainty doesn’t feel entirely comfortable even though it’s a normal part of our lives.

Below we’ll explore how to shift our perspective on uncertainty, to not only normalize it but to see it as the gateway to possibilities. Because here lives learning if we’re willing to seek it.

Field Notes for Uncertain Moments

Unsure often feels like stuck. We’re directionless so we don’t move at all. Often it helps to talk to someone about what is keeping you in place and what’s stopping you from making the decision (if there is one to be made). Book a coaching session to figure out what it is that you do need and what the next steps might be for you.
