If Lost Start Here is a guide for the anxious, curious, lonely and lost. Featuring everyday places and at-home prompts designed to help you live a life that feels good.
People often arrive here with a specific emotion in mind. Grief. Anxiety. Stress. Guilt. Fear. Happiness. Sadness. A sense of being lost, stuck, or emotionally flat.
Sometimes it’s confusion. Sometimes it’s overwhelm. Sometimes it’s the opposite like feeling empty, disconnected, or numb. And often, beneath all of that, there is something else they are hoping for:
“I just want to have a normal emotional experience.”
“I want to stop feeling hijacked by what I feel or ashamed of it.”
Emotions coaching offers a supportive place to begin to understand all you’re feeling.
Many of the women I work with are thoughtful, capable, and outwardly coping.
Inside, though, they might be:
holding their emotions in all day, then crying in the shower or the office bathroom
feeling emotionally flooded without knowing how to stop it
putting everyone else’s feelings first and losing track of their own
unsure how to set emotional boundaries without guilt
struggling to accept their own emotional reactions
avoiding certain feelings altogether because they feel too much
wanting tools to cope, but not wanting to bypass what’s actually there
unsure how to ask for, or receive, emotional support
Often, their emotions haven’t been given much room.
They’ve come last. They’ve been minimised. They’ve been managed privately. These sessions begin by changing that.
Hi, I’m Claire — an emotions coach and writer — and my work is grounded in listening closely to how people actually experience their emotional lives.
I am an ICF Associate Certified Coach with a background in wellbeing and emotional support, working with people who feel overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or at a crossroads in their lives or work. My practice centres on helping clients understand what they are feeling and why, and learning how to work with their emotions rather than pushing them aside.
I support clients with emotional regulation, anxiety, grief, low mood, and periods of uncertainty or transition, as well as work-related concerns such as purpose, burnout, decision-making, and identity shifts. Many of the people I work with are capable and thoughtful, but feel stuck, emotionally overloaded, or unsure how to move forward in a way that feels right for them.
My approach is calm, compassionate, and practical. Drawing on emotions coaching principles and evidence-informed wellbeing practices, I help clients build emotional awareness, self-trust, and clarity. Together, we explore patterns, beliefs, and inner narratives, and develop tools that support everyday wellbeing from managing difficult emotions to reconnecting with what matters.
Clients often describe our work as grounding and clarifying. Sessions offer space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and leave with a greater sense of steadiness, direction, and connection to themselves and their lives.
Again and again, I’ve noticed this: most emotional distress doesn’t come from having the “wrong” emotions.
It comes from:
not feeling able to share them
not trusting them
not having language for them
or not knowing what to do when they arrive
Emotions coaching isn’t about fixing, suppressing, or performing resilience.
It’s about learning how to be with your emotions so they stop feeling overwhelming, embarrassing, or out of control.
My approach to emotions coaching is calm, steady, and grounded in real life.
Rather than jumping straight to solutions or strategies, we begin by slowing things down. There’s space to arrive exactly as you are, without needing to explain, justify, or make sense of everything straight away.
We spend time listening to what you’re actually feeling whether that’s grief, anxiety, anger, fear, sadness, guilt, or something harder to name — without rushing to manage, minimise, or tidy it up. Often, being heard properly is what starts to bring things into focus.
As we talk, we gently find clearer language for your experience. When emotions are named more precisely, they tend to feel less overwhelming and less frightening. What once felt like a flood often becomes something you can stand alongside and understand.
We also practise staying with emotions rather than avoiding or overriding them. Not in a forced way, but just long enough for them to soften and shift. From there, it becomes easier to respond with care and self-trust: setting boundaries, asking for support, or making choices that feel more aligned, rather than reacting out of habit or self-criticism.
This work helps emotions feel more manageable, more understandable, and less overwhelming, not because they disappear, but because you’re no longer facing them alone.
I offer one-to-one emotions coaching — a calm, confidential space where your emotional experience is taken seriously.
Some people come with a specific emotion they want help with.
Others come because everything feels tangled and hard to name.
Both are welcome.
We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on understanding, steadiness, and practical support.
If this reflects something you recognise in yourself, the next step is simple.
I offer a free discovery call so we can talk about what you’re experiencing and whether emotions coaching feels like the right support for you.
Book a free discovery call or you can book a first session to see what you’re really feeling, and why.
Perfect if you're new to emotions coaching and want to explore how it can help.
In this single session, you will:
Explore your current relationship with emotions
Identify emotional patterns and their impact on daily life
Develop initial strategies to manage emotions more effectively
This session provides a starting point, your space to reflect, gain clarity, and take away practical tools to begin working with your emotions in a healthier way.
People come to emotions coaching to:
feel less overwhelmed by anxiety or stress
find steadiness in grief or sadness
understand stress without being consumed by it
soften guilt and people-pleasing patterns
feel less emotionally flooded or shut down
learn coping tools that don’t bypass real feelings
trust their emotional experience instead of fighting it
The goal isn’t to feel happy all the time.
It’s to feel more comfortable with the range of what you’re feeling, even when emotions are strong.
This work may be a good fit if:
you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally flooded
you struggle to accept your own emotional reactions
you’re tired of coping alone
you want tools and understanding
You don’t need to arrive with the right words. That’s part of what we find together
There is nothing wrong with having strong emotions. What’s been missing is often space, language, and support.
That’s what these sessions are here for.

“I absolutely adored working with Claire. As someone who’s done so much work on herself, I’m not new to coaching, but Emotion Coaching was new to me. I had some niggles around where I was in life and where I wanted to be. I felt a lot of uncertainty. Through her gorgeous warm and caring approach, Claire led me on a journey to better understand the emotions I had at play, and more importantly those that I wanted to feel! It was a wonderful experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Claire and her Emotions Coaching!”
